Presenter: Kathy Pittenger
Picture
The Faith Formation Playlists training is a three-part video series that focuses on how your church can utilize playlists in faith formation with all ages. Part One defines and presents an overview of playlists. Part Two digs deeper into approaches to playlists with examples. Part Three focusses on building a playlist. The video also presents how-tos for curating, building, and implementing playlists. At the end of the video series you will be able to define a faith formation playlist, view examples of different models, and have resources for curating and building your own playlists.

Designing

Picture
A playlist a sequence of activities and resources on a topic designed for individual and/or small group learning, usually available on a digital form. Faith formation playlists provide a variety of curated experiences (in-person and online), published on a digital platform, that families, individuals, and/or small groups can use to address areas of faith growth identified in the pathways guide. Playlists can also be developed on life issues, biblical and theological topics, Christian practices, seasons of the church year, and more to provide faith-forming content for families, all ages, or specific groups or life cycle stages.

Chapter Eight in the Lifelong Faith book, "Playlists for Engaging People of All Ages in Faith Formation," presents two approaches for designing playlists as a menu of faith formation activities and as a sequenced learning plan on a topic or theme. The chapter includes a design process and examples for each approach.

Use the Design Worksheets on the "Resources" page to create your own playlists. Be sure to review the examples of playlists which can serve as a guide for your design work.
